Motors Aurus

Our previous material on the “economy” of the “Cortege” project (Aurus) caused a lot of complaints, for the most part – the following property: they say, the Kolesa.ru editors raised many questions, but there are almost no answers. Alas! What can we do if several of our attempts to get comments or interviews with NAMI engineers have come to naught. And since the main task of the journalist is to pose questions, we continue to publish on the project “Cortege” and, like last time, we turn to open sources, which, because of their nature, have remained out of sight of the general reader.

First, let’s talk about OTTS. These four letters, mentioned in our previous material, caused unhealthy excitement in the comments. It turned out that not all readers are familiar with this abbreviation, which makes it difficult to understand the importance of the lack of an OTTS in a limousine Aurus Senat car. It is on this car, we recall, that Vladimir Putin was taken as part of his next inauguration on public roads.

Car or “non-car”?

So. Vehicle type approval (OTTS) is a certificate that confirms the compliance of the vehicle with the established safety level and other parameters adopted for vehicles of the Russian Federation. Receiving an OTTS implies that a vehicle passes a series of tests, including passive safety. Those who wish to familiarize themselves with the list of requirements formed in the framework of the Geneva Agreement of 1958, to which the USSR joined at the time, and also with additions to this document – “Appendices”, “Revisions” and “Amendments”, can use the link. For the rest, we report: the main control test accompanying the receipt of an OTTC, that is, a certification document, is considered to be a frontal impact of a vehicle against a deformable barrier at a speed of 56 km / h. Simply put, the presence of OTTS says that the car can be considered safe.

So, the inauguration was in the spring, and in the last decade of December 2018, the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov informed the press that the sedan and limousine Senat Aurus are still in the process of receiving the OTTS. This document is issued by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology – Rosstandard. On the website of the department, in the section where they publish any and all issued certificates of conformity, there really is not a single document on Aurus or the Tuple. This means that the Aurus assembled in Russia cannot legally be considered a car. At the same time, we do not exclude that the inaugural “non-automobile” passed some tests before taking on board the first person of the state.

It is possible that the presidential limousine beat the obstacle only on the computer. Please note that in this case we are talking about a crash test with a small overlap. At the same time, it is quite possible that the obstacle is tough. It is quite possible that the presidential limousine was beaten against the obstacle only on a computer. For red word

Rumors that “the Tsar’s limousine is not real” only intensified after the presentation of the car on the MIAS-2018, where it was not allowed to open the hood – even the fuel tank flap was forbidden! Meanwhile, just under the hood space hides the least of secrets, in some sense even the opposite. Of course, you will say that you only heard about engines and gearboxes for the “Cortege” in general? True, but this is only because you do not read scientific journals.

Around the world, scientific journals perform the function of open sites: scientists share with their colleagues their most important discoveries and hypotheses. In our country, they are needed first of all in order for the candidate to complete his PhD or doctoral dissertation defense by complying with the standard for scientific publications. But how can one not be mistaken with the publication and publish the article so that it is definitely identified as a “scientific publication”? There is a list of publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission for scientific publications. For example, our publication is not in this list, and all our materials cannot be considered “scientific”, but, say, the “Journal of Automotive Engineers” is included in this list. The article published in it and other editions of the mentioned list of the Higher Attestation Commission is not at all obliged to contain theories incomprehensible to mere mortals. She can talk about the design of the car, but to be “scientific”.

The production of cars in NAMI is characterized by a high proportion of manual labor, which no longer indicates high quality. Pay attention to the massive frame design. Last year in this edition several materials on the “Cortege” were published at once – the authors became NAMI engineers.
